Word Scramble
Make a list of scrambled words which relate to babies, gifts or maternity and distribute copies of this list of scrambled words. Tell your guests to unscramble as many words as they can, and to write the correct answer in the adjacent space, in a fixed amount of time say five or ten minutes. The guest with the maximum numbers of correct answers is the winner.
Memory game
Put 15 to 20 small items associated with babies on a tray. To begin the game, bring the tray into the room and place it before the guests for one minute and tell the guests to memorize the items that are on the tray, then remove the tray from the room and give the guests five minutes to write down on pieces of paper what all the items were. The guest who gets the most items correct is the winner.
The Cotton Ball Game
For this game, you will require two big bowls. Fill one of the bowls with cotton balls. Get hold of a large kitchen spoon and a cloth to use as a blindfold. Blindfold each guest and allow one minute for transferring as many cotton balls from one bowl to the other using just the kitchen spoon. The guest who is able to transfer the most cotton balls is the winner.
The Rice and Diaper Pins Game
Take a large bowl and half fill it with dry rice, and mix gold colored diaper pins with the rice. Blindfold each guest and tell them to find as many diaper pins as they can in one minute. The guest who can find the most diaper pins in one minute is the winner.
The Guess the Baby Game
In the invitation card, request each guest to bring with them to the shower a picture of themselves as a baby. Take the picture from each guest as they arrive and note down a number behind each photo. Make a list to determine which photograph corresponds with each guest. Show all the guests each photograph one by one and tell them the number of each of them. After this, instruct them to write down the name of the person in the baby photograph. The guest who can identify the most photographs is the winner.
